Southing 05 Magnum

This is a great moment in time to be a collector. HinsdaleCellars.com has secured several hotly pursued releases that are destined to find homes in serious cellars.

Sea Smoke Southing 2005. The acclaimed Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir is nearly impossible to find, but limited quantities remain in our prime inventory. It is available in a rare magnum ($140, at right), or in 750ml bottles as part of a Santa Rita Hills Collectors’ trio ($360).

An 18-liter jewel. The 2004 Fontodi Flaccianello Della Pieve in Melchior format ($6,399), an all-Sangiovese Super Tuscan heralded by Robert Parker Jr. as “one of Italy’s blue-chip wines.” The ’04 is rated 96 points.

Rare magnums of the unsurpassed Felix Callejo Family Reserve 2003 ($224). This Tempranillo earned 98 points from Wine Advocate’s Jay Miller. This is an epic Spanish red blessed with “beautiful fruit” and ” impressive purity.”

Inspiring choices all.
